Robert The Taylor Loves Gay Marriage and IWS Radio

Top o' the mornin' all...Robert the Taylor here for IWS Radio...

Y'know? Some IWS Radio shows are better than others, and well, the IWS Radio show I listened to
yesterday was beyond the realm of creative genius.

Being Scottish, sometimes you Americans are hard to understand, but let me tell ya lads and lassies, during yesterday's show..?

Jay and Matt's comedy shone through the tubes of the internet in a fashion that was more visible and palatable than the stench floating over the waters of Loch Ness.

After Jay and Matt engaged in some some witty banter about the weather, the Beer Mine, and some grocery store rudeness, a man named Buddy Acapella sang your upstart American National Anthem.

Topical as IWS Radio always is, they had their reprehensible Dutch whore/newsman interview THE Confederate flag. Who knew that Guy could sound halfway sober and a flag of all people could be so damn articulate and sensitive?

There's was plenty of good American patriotic music played as well. Even though I am unwillingly a part of the losing side of your revolution, me toes were a tappin'. The bad songs that they played moved me even more.

And by moved me me more, I mean that the bad music moved me to the kitchen in order to pour meself another dram of hooch!!

The climax of the show involved a lesbian and as well all know no matter in which country we reside, a climaxing lesbian is a very hot thing. Anyhoo...

The angelic and happily married lesbianetically married Angie spoke on her joy and the disdain of others that resulted from Friday's SCROTUS Gay Marriage ruling in the states. She was awesome, and indeed, if I was a lesbian, I would be looking her up.

And my American friends, believe it or not I, Robert the Taylor called in as well. That's right lad and lassies. They gave me a bit of shit about my heritage and my accent, but that is only because they are jealous that we Scots have a lakefront prehistoric monster swimming about and their self-serving American ears can only understand their own voices.

Anyhoo...the two blokes did a fine job of celebrating America and making fun of it at the same time, so give em' a listen, but make certain to pour yeself a strong drink prior to doing so...

IWS Person of the Week...Mike Huckabee !!

Greetings, Cheers, and Hola from IWS Radio...It's Sunday, so it's time for our IWS Person of the Week!!

This week, we honor a man who is true to his morals, his belief in GAWD, and his belief that if he can be a human chameleon, he can be elected in President of the United States in 2016.

Our Person of the Week is Arkansas' Second Favorite Son, behind Jayman of course, and just above that rapist and horrible President, Bill Clinton...

Everyone likes Mike, because he is a man of God, who has a rapier wit and a charm offensive that could melt the cold Teutonic heart of German Chancellor Angela Merkel...


But don't let his folksy charm fool you...He has an adorable aura about him that is quite sexy and intoxicating, even among both tea partiers and teetotalers!!  And yes ladies, his "sermon" is THIS long...


But don't get on his wrong side when it comes to issues of morality, such as women wanting unfettered access to birth control, because this hayseed is both the Starsky AND Hutch of Birth Control Police...


And let it be known, you freakish gay men and women out there, don't even think about getting married. The Huckster has the Lord's ear, and he will wipe you off the planet and wipe clean the supernatural tears of Jesus Christ from his holy face...


Mike Huckabee's tweet upon the SCOTUS ruling took extreme courage on his part, especially because his wife Janet, is a man..

Rob Portman and Gay Marriage: A Cute Couple

Hola all you tolerant and enlightened folks! One of the big news items over the weekend that might have gotten lost in the St. Patrick’s Day revelry was Ohio Republican Senator Rob Portman announced that he not only has a gay son, but is now in favor of gay marriage. It seems as though Sen. Portman now believes that HIS SON is entitled to the same happiness as all those straight people out there. Well, how about that!

It’s been interesting to watch the liberals’ reaction to this. The initial knee-jerk reaction was to complain that Portman has been virulently anti-gay marriage ONLY because he was being a good political soldier and advancing the republican agenda. An agenda, by the way, that is only in place to stir up the base and pander to the religious right because the worst kept secret in Washington is that the vast majority of republicans don’t give a crap about gay marriage and even actually privately support it and attend wedding ceremonies of people on their staff.

Yeah? And? I hate to break this to some of you but up until a couple of years ago the democrats did the same damn thing. Many congressmen and women and senators, especially those who represent southern states, took anti-gay positions simply because they thought it would help them in elections to do so. SHOCKINGIKNOWRIGHT!

Of course, there is also a large group of liberals who have a different take on this. Their “complaint” is that Portman only changed his position on gay marriage when his son came out to him. He never would have changed nor evolved on this had he not had a gay son. He only supports equal rights now because it affects someone he’s close to.

Yeah? And? SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO? What’s your point? I hate to break THIS to you but that’s EXACTLY how Barack Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton and most of the democrats evolved on this issue. Maybe it didn’t happen overnight with them by a family member coming out to them, but it did happen over time as they became more aware of the gay marriage issue and actually started to be around more and more gay people.

Aannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd …. That exactly how you, you, you over there with your hands in your pockets looking at the sky and whistling and … uh … I evolved on this same issue.

Oh sure, we’re all born innocent and have to learn to hate from our parents, friends, teachers and preachers. Then when we go out into the  real world on our own we start finding out that a lot of what we were taught about blacks, Mexicans, Jews, gays, cablinasians and  Burkinabés aren’t nearly as bad as we were led to believe they are. I know that liberals love to pretend that they remained innocent and pure their whole lives and never found themselves on the wrong side of any civil rights issues. Liberals also want us to believe that they never harbored any prejudiced thoughts of any kind at all! That’s bullshit.

For most of us there have been a lot of “these folks aren’t that bad at all” revelations after we found ourselves interacting with people from other cultures for the first time as adults. I was one of those people. I come from a very small community and while I was lucky to have parents who didn’t preach intolerance, I didn’t have any significant interaction with blacks, Hispanics, Asians etc etc until college.

On gays I took the usual path. While I didn’t really have prejudices against gays* (beyond the “I don’t know anything about homosexuality and they seem kinda icky prejudices”) I started out as a “no gay marriage” guy and then became “okay maybe gay civil unions” and then I finally evolved all the way to not just “yes” on gay marriage but to the belief that gay rights is a civil rights issue. That evolution was the result of actually being around gays, getting to know them and realizing that I was wrong on the gay rights and gay marriage issues. Just like Senator Portman, Barack Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton and most everyone else.

It’s important to not worry WHAT brought people to finally doing the right thing and supporting gay marriage. The only thing matters is that they finally got here and bashing them when they do get here will only result in others who might be considering coming out in favor of gay marriage to decide against it.


*Since I was not a regular church goer I was not taught to hate gays. However, when I was growing up homosexuality was a subject that just was NOT discussed anywhere by anyone.

Chick-fil-A and the Gay Marriage Controversy

Once again, while uttered decades ago, the words of my gayest of heroes Oscar Wilde, are still brilliant yet simplistic, sarcastically genius, as well as timely, and dead on.

As many of you know, Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy recently said that he supports, “the biblical definition of the family unit.”

When I heard this, I thought to myself…

“That’s great Dan.  I think you are a moron who wraps himself inside of some un-Christ-like thinking, but whatever.  Enjoy stroking your poultry, and who the hell cares what the head of a chicken chain thinks anyway?”

Well, smack me in the gizzards and call me Foghorn Leghorn, because evidently, many Americans care what the big rooster in the henhouse of chicken sandwich chains has to say about gay marriage.

Well…many Americans who have an agenda based on immovable opinions, monocular thinking, and my way or the highway philosophies, seem to have a loud and profound opinion on Dan Cathy’s comment.

On the left we have Mayor Rahm Emanuel of Chicago, the dago mayor of Boston, Michael Menino, and a growing list of mayors of American cities such as San Francisco stating that because of Dan Cathy’s personal “religious” stance, Chick-fil-A is not welcome in their towns.

Feigned outrage equals hypocrisy, and please allow me to demonstrate.

If the President of the Chicago Bears, Bulls, Cubs, or White Sox held Cathy’s view, Mayor Rahm would not say, “You are no longer welcome in Chicago!!”

If the President of the Boston Red Sox or owner of the nearby New England Patriots held Cathy’s view on gay marriage, Mayor Menino would not say, “Get the hell out of here!!”

Hell no they wouldn’t!!

And the Lesbian and Gay community and activists?  They shriek like infants, screaming….

“We shouldn’t be subjected to this…Keep them out of our town, city, and or burg.”

If Dan Cathy’s comments bother you, just shut the fuck up and boycott Chick-fil-A by not going there.

Speak your point by not eating there, but please, honor their right to do business as you want your rights to be honored, and quit your damn whining.

They have as much right to do business in your town, and ANY town, as you have the right to express your gayness, and yes in my opinion, have civil protections in a union as do a man and a woman.

Now…on the right?

Former Arkansas Governor and incredible growing man Mike Huckabee has deemed tomorrow, August 1st, to be Chick-fil-A Day.  He wants everyone to go to Chick-fil-A and buy a chicken sandwich in support of their principled stance.  Of course…

He then wants you to bring your purchases to him so that in the name of GAWD, he can devour them all.

Sarah Palin and her first dude, whatever the fuck his name is, had a photo op at a Chick-fil-A in Texas, because nothing says trying to remain relevant like buying a chicken sandwich in the name of preventing two guys or chicks from becoming monogamous in the eyes of the Lord.

Oy…What the fuck has happened to this country?

We’re having a fight over gay marriage in a chicken coop, in order to prevent or promote the hens laying eggs together or the cocks crowing all over each other.

I miss you Mr. Wilde…I miss you.

Hey Gays! How 'Bout a Reach Around?


Hola Fabulous People! So, if you last Thursday’s post and or listened to last Wednesday’s show, and shame on you if you didn’t, Matt-Man told you about how we basically are responsible for President Obama finally coming out in favor of gay marriage. And, while I’m proud of IWS and pressure we put on Obama and our contribution, however large, to his decision, there is something that is bothering me a bit.

I know this is going to come across as my feeling entitled or bitchy, but I don’t really care. I feel like it’s important to stand up not only for myself, but for the entire I’m With Stupid Media Empire. So, I’m just gonna go ahead and come out and say this.

I’m more than a little disappointed by the lack of support we’re getting from the LGBT community. We’ve gotten some support from a few lesbians, but the guy dudes are nowhere to be found. We’ve really done everything we can to try to make friends with the gay community and have gone out of our way to show them love and support. We’ve done Gay Celebration shows. We’ve supported their causes and defended them from attack. And, most importantly we shamed President Obama into finally coming out in favor of gay marriage. And what do we get back?

HEARTACHE! That’s what. And I’m not gonna put up with it anymore.

You know what guys? Support, love and respect are all a two-way street! It’s time you guys stepped up and reciprocated a little bit. Why aren’t we getting lots of support on the I’m With Stupid Podcast? Why don’t our pro-gay and pro-LGTB posts and shows get promoted through the LGBT pages on Stumble Upon or voted up on Reddit or Digg, or reblogged on Tumblr or shared on the LGBT pages on Facebook? I mean, we did our time on our knees in front of the glory hole, and when you were done and we stood up, you just left the booth. That’s just not right.

One of my few goals in the social media world of blogging, tweeting, facebooking, tumblring and whatever else was to meet and actually make friends with a big and diverse a group of people as possible. And, for the most part I’ve done that. I’m “met” people from all over the world. I’ve gotten to know at least on some level people of many different races with very different backgrounds. There have been some cultural barriers, but we’ve worked to overcome those.

But, you know who apparently doesn’t want to be my friend and won’t give me and IWS a chance? Gays. What’s up with that? Am I not good enough for you? Was my contribution to the blog Real Live Lesbian not proof enough that I deserve acceptance by the gay community? I followed both Neil Patrick Harris AND Lady Ga Ga on Twitter. I’m doing everything I’m supposed to do folks! This is embarrassing, unfair and worst of all, hurts my feelings.

But hey, maybe it’s us? Maybe IWS Media hasn’t done enough. I don’t know how it’s possible, but I guess some people might think so, but I don’t. I think we’ve done more than enough and I think we deserve a little more support and love from the gays.

There, I said it. And I’m glad I said it.

Obama and Gay Marriage...The President Comes Out of the Closet

Happy Presidentially Endorsed Gay Marriage Thursday to one and all!!

Cum stained man panties are a-heavin’ and the lip stick marred bras are a-flyin’ today because President Obama announced on Wednesday that he is fully behind, and pushing for the rights of gays across America to nuptialize.

Or something.

I mean, well…that’s what good Christians, right-wing neo-tards, and James Dobson would have you believe.

However…

When President Obama came out of the political closet of cowardice yesterday, and announced that he wanted to “affirm” his belief in Gay Marriage after years of tap dancing around the issue, he freaked many God fearing Christians out.

Because as the God-Fearing Christians know, once gays are given reassurance that the head of the most powerful country on Earth says, “Go forth and marry”…

Gays everywhere will take that as a free pass to move from having sex in the quasi-private security of public park restrooms and homos everywhere will teabag each other on Main Street U.S.A., as The Indigo Girls recite excerpts from love letters sent from Alice Toklas to Gertrude Stein while strumming porn score power chords in D Flat Minor.

You know what I say to that line of thinking?  Of course you don’t, or I wouldn’t have written this, but I digress…

There are far too many Americans who think that intelligent, gay adults are nothing more than sex machines in search of little kids with which to have sex when there are no other intelligent, gay adults with which to have sex.

In the minds of more than a handful of Americans, gays are nothing more than the perverse embodiment of the Devil.

Blow Me, Oh Righteous Ones!!

The idiotic, far right-wing Conservative nut jobs who are afraid of Gay Marriage are the same ones who see black helicopters casting shadows of government infiltration upon their day to day lives…Who nebulously claim government has become too big, and who scream..

“Obama is a Socialist”, all the while cashing their Social Security checks, in order to drive a well-built and bailed-out Cadillac while transiting the Interstate Highway system, in order to roam around National Parks such as Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, or the Battlefield at Yorktown.

See?

Liberals and Conservative both enjoy the bounty of a nation that is rife with national interest, history,  and endowments, but…there is a difference. And this gay marriage issue seems to apply the yellow highlighter of difference upon these two schools of thought.

In my world, I consider myself to be a Liberal because I believe that every opportunity for personal growth, affection, knowledge, and happiness should be applied and reasonably given to all.  If it is not, what is the purpose of living here, in fact, what would be the purpose of being an American?

Some Conservatives would say, “I agree with you, but that does not apply to the God Given rite of marriage.”

My answer goes back to the Declaration of Independence.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

And seriously?

If a woman loves another woman or a man loves another man, and they just want to live together with the protection that a legal contract such as marriage or a civil union provides…how the hell does that affect you?

Uh-huh…It doesn’t.  So…

Throw some rice for the gay couples and leave your presents at the door.

I hope Jayman and I are recognized for our work in this area.  You see…

It was only hours after yesterday’s IWS Radio Show in which we chastised Obama for lacking the courage to come out in favor of gay marriage, that he did.  Once again, the power of IWS in full force.

If We Allow Gay Marriage...


Then gays will get married! 

I've long had sympathy towards the Pro Life crowd because I felt they were on the side of what was truly right and moral. It hasn't helped them to push a “pro-life” line while murdering people, or the fact that at the very moment that a human being is born most pro-lifers say “you're on your own kid.”
But I still understand and respect their position when it comes to the defense of the unborn and the defenseless.

But, what I can't for life of me figure out, is their over the top anger and opposition to gay marriage. Seriously, WTF people? I mean, opposition to abortion is based on the taking a human life. So, you don't have to be a Christian conservative or even a religious person at all to agree with that. Opposition to gays though, is based solely on bigotry and strict religious doctrine. And that is no basis for denying them the legal right to marry.

I mean, if we're gonna have the federal government base all laws on just anybody's strict moral beliefs, then let's go ahead and put Rush Limbaugh in jail for violating ALL of the Seven Deadly Sins. REPEATEDLY! It's the same thing, right? Sure it is. God is no more serious about that whole “don't be gay” thing as is about the whole “don't be a fat, gluttonous adulterer and those four other things” thing. If we're gonna lay down the law on one, let's do it for all. And, anyone nodding his or her head right now and saying “Fine with me!” has never read the Bible because I'm telling ya, if we did that we would all be tossed into those reeducation camps that Michele Bachmann talks about.

I mean, we're all hypocrites right? Even on the issue of gays. Most all of agree that men together is icky while two women together is a beautiful thing and want to watch.


The argument that marriage has its roots in religion is also a loser. So what? No matter where its roots are, marriage is regulated by the government and is, in fact, a secular act. Basically you pay for a marriage license and then you find someone who is licensed by the state to perform some sort of ceremony and then sign the dotted line saying that you are officially fucked hitched. The whole “get married in a church with all kinds of religious shit” is just an voluntary add on. God is not required to be there unless you invite him.

And don't bother me with the bullshit argument that the government will FORCE the church to marry gays. Come on! Are you even listening to yourself? You say the govt shouldn't be able to force churches to marry gays, but at the same time you support the govt forcing the church NOT to marry gays. Trying to have it both ways much?

In any event, the govt isn't going to force the church to do or not do anything. That's the biggest fail argument of them all. Well, next to the whole “states right unless I disagree with what a state has voted to do then the federal government should come in a void the state law and dictate my beliefs to everyone” bullshit. Which is basically the position of every single person running for the GOP nomination for president. Except possibly Mitt Romney. He hasn't been asked today so we don't know where his position has “evolved” to.

Anyway, I'm impressed that New York is now as cool as Iowa. And I sincerely hope that this will now make New York a place where gays will want to move to. And I'm very happy for all the tax attorneys, estate planners and divorce lawyers who can just go ahead and start planning on buying that Tuscan Villa for retirement now.

But, more than anything I'm sick and tired of the amount of effort and resources that are expended on issues such as gay marriage that should be obvious and easy. And while everyone is screaming at each other over the little stuff, I wonder what our “leaders” in DC are cooking up to screw us over with next. Hmmm … It's almost like this all by design, isn't it?
