Jayman's Vote: None of the Above

Hola voters! Well, it’s finally time for me to finally decide for whom I’m going to vote for president. For most people it’s a very simple decision to make. Most people will simply vote for the person with the “D” or the “R” next to his name. Many others are single issue voters and vote only for the “pro-life” or “pro-choice” candidate.

On a side note, did you see the slime that Tom Friedman spewed in his column in the New York Times? The one about where he talks about the “extreme” positions of many republicans when it comes to rape and abortion? While I don’t disagree with him, I find it disgusting that the man who cheered on the Iraq War, the Drone killings and any and all slaughtering of innocent lives in the Middle East wants to lecture anyone on the “Sanctity of Life.” What an incredible hypocrite.

In fact, this very subject is why I’ve been so torn about whom to vote for. Normally, given the fact that he has basically done what he promised to do, voting for Obama again should be pretty easy. Look, the reality of it is that Obama hasn’t been that bad. The economy sucks, but it is improving albeit not as fast as we would all hope. And, given the absolute refusal of the republicans to cooperate any little bit at all, (and the cowardly actions of many democrats) what Obama has accomplished has been quite impressive.

But, there are other things that aren’t so defensible. Obama is a fairly weak and ineffectual leader and has continued the truly monstrous drone program that has literally slaughtered hundreds, maybe thousands of innocent people, mostly women and children. He continues and has even expanded the warrantless surveillance program spying on American citizens. He has not made any move to do away with the most disturbing and authoritarian parts of the Patriot Act. He hasn’t closed Gitmo. And, most disturbingly he has a “secret” Kill List where names of people, including American citizens marked for assassination without any consideration of due process.

What mostly infuriates me about these things isn’t really that Obama continued those programs that were started under George W Bush. No, what pisses me off is the way that liberals and democrats suddenly are no longer appalled by these immoral and extra-constitutional actions simply because THEIR GUY is the one doing it. That’s just outrageous and I don’t know how they look themselves in the mirror.

As for Mitt Romney … What else is left to say? Mitt is, without a doubt, the worst human being to run for president since Richard Nixon. He is an extraordinarily dishonest man running for any office I have ever seen. He has no core principals or beliefs. He’s more than happy, without any hint of shame, to change his position on any issue at any time. I’m not just talking about the completely opposite positions he takes on most issues today than he did when he was governor of Massachusetts. I’m talking about his taking opposite positions on issues from one day to the next!

Virtually every position Mitt Romney took during the debates is the opposite of what he has been campaigning on. The best example of this was after a year of criticizing Obama for having a set date for withdrawal from Afghanistan, he suddenly claimed he supported it. Hell, he might as well have spent that entire debate saying “ME TOO!!” That’s just one example, but the list is so very long. There was also his “Let Detroit Go Bankrupt” op-ed which has astonishingly evolved into his taking credit for the auto bailout. And then there’s the weekly flip-flopping and obfuscation on Roe v Wade, taxes, defense spending, FEMA, Medicare, Social Security and everything else. And all those things I said that keeps me from voting for Obama? Romney would continue and even expand them too. Not to mention that they will both continue and even expand the ridiculous War on Drugs crap.

Romney is just a complete fraud. As Matt-Man likes to say, “Romney has no soul.” I think that describes him best.

So what am I gonna do when I get into that booth? Well, if we were required to choose between Obama and Romney, the only real choice would be Obama based simply on the fact that he’s not the lying scumbag that Romney is. But, I’m going to take a stand. I’m going to engage in a one man protest. For the first time in my life I’m going to leave the Presidential section of my ballot blank. There is no “None of the Above” option on our ballot, but that’s how I’m voting.

President Obama Comes to Springfield, Ohio

Cheers and Hail to the Chief Bitches!!  President Obama is coming to Bagwine, Ohio Friday at Noon.

And do you know why he is coming?

Because, he has openly spoken of his drug and alcohol use during his early years, and he knows that he can easily get hooked up here wit dat type uh shit here in Bagwine.  Hey-Ooooooo.

Ha-Haaaaaa…Kidding, of course.

But seriously…

If President Obama truly wants to know his audience here in Bagwine, Ohio and how he should act when he comes here Friday to address Bagwinians at Springfield High School, I have a few pointers for him.

Here in the Greater Bagwine Metroplex people don’t mind numbers, but keep it relatable.

DON’T say…

“If re-elected, I will produce 8 Million jobs over two years which will yield an economic growth of 3.2 percent per quarter and ultimately lead us to a GDP of a gazillion dollars.”

DO say…

“If re-elected, I will produce so many muthafuckin’ jobs that even if the price of a 40 of Busch remains at the outrageous price of $2.45, all y’all, or at least a family member or two, will have no trouble getting more than their share of the American Pie and can pass some of the sharing and thereby savings, not to mention the buzz, on to you!!”

DON’T say…

“While world oil markets are tenuous at best, I will try to hedge, barter, and bargain to keep the cost of gasoline below four bucks a gallon.”

DO say…

“While those Romney freaks say that I am trying to over-regulate business and commerce, nothing could be further from the truth.  Springfielders?  In my second term, I will make the siphoning of gasoline from your neighbor’s car legal, and your fuel costs will plummet overnight!!”

DON’T say…

“To the ladies in the audience…Regardless of what you think or your religious disposition, Birth Control for women is a right, and if your employer won’t offer it to you, the government will.”

DO say…

“Yo Bitches…Regardless of what you think or what the pimp whom you are working for thinks, he needs to offer you Birth Control, and if he doesn’t, the government will.”

DON’T  say…

“I will try to finally get Republicans to be serious about our out of control illegal immigration problem and develop a plan that is both compassionate and strong.”

DO say…

“Yo Paco!!  Great to see that the Dole plant here in Springfield let you off for the afternoon to come and see me.  Viva Packaged Salads!!”

And then President Obama, you could make a joke about your “Kenyan” birth, because knowing these people here in Bagwine as I do, you would get support from at least half a dozen people who would yell…

“That’s okay Mr. President, my momma told me that I was born half  Thalidomide, half Asbestos…It’s cool.”

So there you go Mr. President…do these things, and Friday’s event in Bagwine, Ohio will go over like gangbusters, or if you want to be more real with your audience, it will go over like gang bangers.

Cheers!!

State of the Union Address 2012: Why Bother?

Ladies and Gentlemen, the President of the United States…

And the joint Congress and American public go, “Zzzzzzzzzzzzz.”

Sad.

But the sadness…disinterest…malaise…or just plain, “What the fuck ever”, feeling is not without an understandable reason.

Tonight, during the State of the Union Address President Obama will say in some form or fashion as all President’s before him have said…

“The State of the Union is strong.”

Well, in my opinion, the State of the Union is far from strong, in fact, it sucks. And, I’m not talking about our economy, or our stature in the eyes of the world. I’m talking about us.

I’m talking about us as a nation of people who over the years have defeated an empire, have come together like none other, and now, after nearly 236 years of this great nation’s existence…

We argue over whether a woman has private and personal control over her own body, if a spouse has the right to let his spouse die in a dignified way, or if we should attack a country such as Iran whose military prowess is along the lines of the paper tiger that was Hussein’s Iraq.

Our nation has so many problems…from our debt, to reliance on foreign oil, to unemployment, to trying to find our markets and international place in the 21st Century.

And yet, when looking for a President and leader in our 2012 election cycle, what do many Americans look toward to guide their choice?

American History? The Constitution? Or perhaps, Common Sense? Noooooooo…

Many Americans find their safe harbors via the lighthouse of the media beacons that are MSNBC, FOX News, and some whacked out manchicks named Rachel Maddow and/or Sean Hannity among others.

Unfortunately, they seem to be the catalytic minority, and…they are what fuel the misfiring engine that is the do nothing government that we seem to have these days. Politicians want one thing, and that one thing is not to help America, it is to get reelected.

And in order to secure that end game, legislators agree with tiny minded folks, and no matter what, feed the electorate with what they want to hear in order to accomplish their unending, monetarily satisfying tenure within the once great halls of Congress.

Seriously, Mr. and/or Mrs. American Voter…you suck.

Choosing a President, taking the ten minutes it takes to vote, and actually researching who and why you want to vote for him or her has become such a chore. Because? Thinking takes time.

Millions of Americans listen to Limbaugh, Hannity, Maddow, and Olbermann because they would rather not think for themselves. They are too busy ordering pizza , texting a friend about how their spouse hates them, or playing Farmville on Facebook as they experience the virtual birth of a calf…

Gimme a break. It’s because of the laziness of the American voter that we in 2012, are left with a field of Presidential candidates of Romney, Gingrich, Santorum, Paul, and Obama.

In 1800 and 1804, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson went head to head in the Presidential election, and in 2012..?

We will have either Romney or Gingrich up against Obama.

Adams and Jefferson debated over the future course this country would take in order to make our then nascent nation more successful, and 200 and some years later?

No matter who the GOP picks to represent their party, the General Election debate will center on not who will make this country greater, but rather who will make this nation less than it already has become.

Ironically, it is our forefathers who set us upon this path with the birth of herd mentality political parties. However...

While they saw political parties merely as schools of thought, Americans today see them as political Cliff Notes, and comfortable, totalitarian schools of non-thought.

Americans today don’t have time to read the entire virtual biography that a candidate may put forth; they merely want to gaze, and listen to it briefly upon 24/7 cable news, and then like Pavlov’s dogs, obediently nod their heads, and wag their tails to what they know, and agree…or bark at the screen when they don’t.

After all, thinking takes time, and there are X-Box games to be played, spouses to cheat upon, and other who are unlike you and I to mock.

I wonder about our country, and when I do , I wonder about Ben Franklin.

He drank…He loooved the ladies…He smoked…He, like an idiot, stood out in the lightning…He hung out with pigeons as he trained them, and today?

Because of all of that, he couldn’t get elected as a City Commissioner of Bagwine, Ohio.

Americans today do not like thinkers…they do not like great people…Americans like a world that is homogenous…that thinks as they do…that is uncomplicated.

And that is exactly why America, the former bastion of innovation and great ideas, is becoming second-rate as a nation, and a nation whose State of the Union is not strong.
