Observations, Epiphanies, and HUGE Heads

Over the past week or so I have noticed some things that disturb, confound, or just make me sit up and take notice.  I offer unto you a few observances that I haven’t spoken out about that have made me go Hmmmmm?

So if I may indulge myself upon your time on this gorgeous Tuesday, let me impart unto you those things that I have recently noticed.

I have always known that Brian Kilmeade…I mean, Brian “Women Can Get Pap Smears at Walgreen’s” Kilmeade is not a bright man, but I never knew he had an inane solution to end the problem of women such as Mrs. Janay Rice, getting beaten up in elevators…He said, “The Message is…next time take the stairs.”

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Monday that the latest Ray and Janay Rice video in the elevator that showed him punching her, was the first time the video had been seen in the NFL offices.  He then paused for a micro-second and added, “by all of us.”  Am I the only one who caught that odd addendum?

Chuck Woolery does a TV commercial for an arthritis/pain relief ointment called Australian Dream.  I have now seen that commercial numerable times and you know what I take away from that ad?

Chuck Woolery has a HUGE head.  I mean his noggin is GINORMOUS.  That boy has got one Sphinx-Sized think melon!!  Holy Shit!!

In other commercial related news…during the morning shows that I watch, I am now seeing a government PSA by the Department of Energy or something that gives tips on how to save on energy and on energy bills.

One of the tips tells people to turn DOWN their A/C (and shows the thermostat going down) when leaving the house…really?  You should actually turn the thermostat UP in order to reduce the running of your A/C unit.

Last night, I saw a report published via Twitter by a fave of the IWS Radio Show one Ezra Klein, that says that 50% of women in America have been physically abused.  And what did I take away from his report?

While I don’t think that that is true, I do think that 100% of “news” organizations will jump on a headline bandwagon any chance they get.

Lastly?

As Jayman mentioned yesterday on the IWS Radio website an evil act of privacy invasion by some scurrilous and woman disrespecting person this week resulted in the leaked photos of such wholesome and talented celebs such as Jennifer Lawrence, Victoria Justice, and Kate Upton.

We here at IWS Radio were SHOCKED and OUTRAGED that such a thing was perpetrated, so in order to make things right and help this trio of kind-hearted and decent women regain their self-respect, IWS Radio is making them our Persons of the Week.

Jennifer Lawrence deserves to shine on our blog without the fear of a couple of cavemen exploiting her as a piece of salacious flesh...

When Victoria Justice graces the pages of our award winning website, we make certain to cover up her most private part, sorta...

Kate Upton knows the score about Jay and Matt, and isn't afraid to set the record straight...

And...If you don't believe Kate, IWS Radio's very own Miss 4th of July Tamra knows that Jay and Matt are not two Neanderthals interested in boosting their ratings through the cheap and tawdry sexploitation of women...

Feminism, Misogyny, Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton and Leaked Celebrity Nudes

Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Hudson, Victoria Justice and several other super hot and very talented celebrities had their nude photos stolen and then leaked to the internet this week. Was this an reprehensible invation of their privacy or should they have expected it to happen at some point? Or both?

There are so many questions that need to be answered here. Was this a sex crime? Should they be "slut-shamed" over their pics? Should men avoid looking at the pics because they were "hacked?" How good DO they look naked? Matt-Man and Jayman are here to answer all of those questions.

Also, what's up with feminism these days? Does it still exist? If it does, in what form? Is it just about hating men? Is it about women keeping other women in line? Still more complicated questions that need very serious grown-ass men to answer.

Worst of all what about the state of misogyny in American culutre? How ugly have things gotten? At what point does flirting or flattering women cross the line into creepy and offensive? Again, Matt and Jay have lots of experience in this area and are here to help.

It's also football season. You can't talk about voilence against women without discussing the NFL! Does the NFL's new domestic violence rules mean they're getting serious about this issue or is it just more garbage from their PR department? That should be an easy one to answer.
