Bar Refaeli Hosts Spring Break for IWS Radio!

Hey guys! Israeli hottie Bar Refaeli here celebrating Bennie Netanyahu big win back home by partying it up at Spring Break with Matt and Jay and IWS Radio! Just check out the wild time they’ve got planned for this week’s show!

It's finally Spring and Matt-Man and Jayman are ready to bask in the warmth and sweat out the humidity. The first thing you have to do during spring is celebrate Spring Break. You don't have to be a student to celebrate either. All you have to do is be willing to engage in excessive partying and immature high jinx. If you're not willing to do that then why are you here? (Please stay anyway.)

Matt and Jay are also really into March Madness. They've analyzed the matchups and will be watching the first two rounds with great interest. They'll tell you what has happened so far and why it happened and then what will happen in the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 and beyond! Plus other unconventional predictions and analysis.

Sunday is also National Goofing Off Day! If ever a holiday was created with Matt and Jay in mind it's this one! They'll explain the art of goofing off to everyone. No two people on Earth can come up with more reasons NOT to do what they should be doing than Matt and Jay. This show might be every procrastinator's dream. Be prepared to take notes people!

As always Canadian Bureau Chief Jamie Mapleleaf and the IWS Players will be along too. They'll put a smile on your face and bring nothing bun sunshine to your hearts. And as always the phone lines will be open and buzzing as we take your calls at 661.244.9852!

Whoa! That’s gonna be so damn sexy! Everyone should tune into “Goofing Off During Spring Break” at 12 Noon ET Sunday! Things could get pretty weird!

Lent 2014: The Struggle is Real Y'all

Hola y’all! Man, I gotta tell ya I’m seriously struggling with this whole lent thing. If you listened to the show on Sunday then you could probably tell that I was anguishing over my decision as to what to give up for Lent. If you didn’t listen then SHAME ON YOU! This has seriously turned into one of the toughest decisions of my life.

As the show went along, it didn’t take much time or effort for Mat-Man and me to agree that we as a team here at IWS Radio should make some sort of sacrifice for lent also. The obvious thing to give up here is the gratuitous posting of pics of hot chicks just as click bait and having nothing to do with the subject we are writing about at all. Unless of course they are in the news for something special and get named “Person of the Week” today is the last day for that kind of thing.

So, that’s set and honestly, I thought that just might be enough for me. Sure, that’s not the biggest sacrifice ever, but it is something that means a lot to me and something I enjoy a lot. What’s more it’s something I probably SHOULD give up. Often people get caught up in the pic of the hot babe and they completely miss my brilliant blog post. That’s very frustrating to me and I think this will help me with that.

As we neared the end of another brilliant and entertaining episode of IWS Radio I settled on giving up junk food. Things like frozen pizzas, chips and sweets or whatever for lunches. Not a bad idea. Again, it’s something I should do anyway. After he should though, I started thinking that maybe there was something better to give up. I also got to thinking that maybe I wouldn’t do anything at all since I’m not Catholic or particularly religious.

The problem with that is I would feel like I let my friend and lover Matt-Man down if I didn’t do anything for Lent while he was giving up bread and pasta. Plus, he’s somehow convinced our good friend, the lovely and talented Tyla Kells to do the same thing he’s doing. Damn, now I feel like I need to support BOTH of them by giving something up.

This morning Matt-Man posted a pic of a bunch of junk food on his Facebook page announcing my giving up junk food for Lent. I cautioned him that I was still struggling with my decision and he reminded me that the Lord hates a pussy. He makes a good point.

So, I was about to go ahead with the whole junk food idea when my very good friend and crazy hot babe suggested that it might not be the best of ideas. This put me in a real quandary as I hat letting anyone down. This is why I try to keep expectations low! So then I threw it all out there on MY Facebook page hoping someone could come up with a better suggestion.

This resulted in some very interesting ideas. One of them was to give dehydrated cheese which would mean giving up things like Cheetos and Nacho Cheese Tortilla Chips. This actually leaves the door open for other kinds of tortilla chips that I might dip in REAL cheese. Damn, that Knight is an amazing combination of brains and beauty. BUT, that’s kind of cheating, right? I mean that’s kind of like giving up Dominoes but still going to Pizza Hut. So then someone just suggested giving up everything orange. This was another brilliant idea which really works for me because I don’t wear hunting vests and have no intention of ever wearing an orange prison jumpsuit.

Other people suggested doing something good for society instead of giving anything up. Maybe not using any plastic bags or plastic containers for 47 days? This is a very practical idea and I kind of like it. The idea of bettering myself and/or doing something good for others is definitely keeping in line with Jesus’ teachings and makes it seem like more of doing something new rather than punishing myself.

So, decision has been made. I’m going to make Lent a positive experience by doing things to better myself as a person and do my part to make my little corner of the universe a better place. Damn, I feel good about this decision. It’s good to have it behind me. Thanks for listening to me ramble about it and thanks for all your help in making such a difficult life decision. You guys rock!

More From Jay's Notebook

Holaaaaaaaa! Since the first one was such a smashing success, it’s time again to dig through Jay’s Notebook and see what’s going on in there…

- A recent poll by Tufts University found that white people believe THEY are the primary victims of racial discrimination in America. So, things really haven’t changes since the Civil War, huh?

- For the first time in many years, I’m not playing fantasy football this season. It’s great not having to worry about a league or a team, but I did find myself doing something weird on Sunday. Every time they showed a highlight of a scoring play, I calculated the fantasy point the players got for that play. By Monday night I had stopped doing that though and was just laughing at people tweeting about desperately needing 3 more points from Antonio Gates or Darren McFadden.

- You know ladies I didn’t give ya’ll any shit about Magic Mike. I didn’t mock you for going to see the movie or for fawning all over Channing Tatum or whatever. So, just let me get the DVD of Spring Breakers and watch it in peace, okay? Fair enough?

- Yet another study found that extremely intelligent people stay up later than people with average intelligence. And all this time I just thought I was an insomniac!

- Whoa hey! I almost missed 9/11 completely. I wouldn’t even have known what day it was if it weren’t for all the “I’m a better American than you” posts all over social media. And the obligatory “I can’t believe Barack Obama has never once acknowledged the 9/11 tragedy in four years” bullshit emails from my conservative friends.

- Why is there always a clock next to the scoreboard of tennis matches? The matches aren’t timed or anything like that. Maybe they’re there so a spectator will look at it and say “Whoa! It’s 3:21! Almost time for my 3:30 nachos and beer break!”

- If I were a chick, I would never wear a bra.

- I just want to explain this to a few people out there. God knows if you were searching online for dirty pics or not when you “accidentally” land on one. He also knows if you save that pic or stay on that page for an extended time. Just sayin’.

- Me: So there’s this chick, Fluffilicious, that I’ve known online for like four years, and I just found out she is allergic to lettuce.
Mom: Really? That’s odd.
Me: IKR? I’ve never heard of that.
Mom: Well, I can’t eat lettuce on the salad bar at Western Sizzlin.
Me: Yeah, but that’s just because it gives you the runs!

- It’s a myth that menstruating women attract bears. Of course it is. Why would fat, hairy gay men be attracted to menstruating women?

- Guy on ESPN Radio: “Every team in the NFL thinks they have a Top 10 quarterback, but how many REALLY do?"
Me yelling at my radio: “PROBABLY TEN OF THEM!”

- Okay, enough. This has been another thrilling and hilarious edition of Jay’s Notebook. I’ll be here all week. Remember to tip your waitress.
