Holaaaaaaaa jokesters, funsters, yuk-yukers and other funny
people! So, a few days ago I was chatting with the uber-lovely and wonderful
Jamie, our favorite Canadian, over on the Twitter Machine when she pointed out
that it was about time for another Joke Show. I checked the archives, and just
as you would expect form a Canadian, she was right! It’s been a full year and
it IS time for our annual Joke Show on IWS!
The first two joke shows were a blast and the third one is
sure to be just as much fun, but Matt-Man and I were thinking that it could be
better. How? I’m glad you asked. What would make Joke Show the Third really
awesome would be if YOU GUYS would join in on the joke telling!
Right? Wouldn’t that be a hoot? Here’s what we were
thinking: You guys either record yourself telling your favorite joke and email
the audio file to Matt or me and we’ll play it on the air, or call in and tell
it live. If you want, you could just email the joke to us and we’ll tell it on
the air for ya, but that wouldn’t be quite as much fun. It doesn’t have to be
an original joke that you came up with either it can be a classic or a “street
joke.” Hell, we don’t require originality of ourselves! Hey-OOOOO
If you are a stand-up comic or are working on a comedy
routine and want to call up or record yourself doing three to five minutes of
the funny that would be awesome too! If you have a “bit” you’ve been working
on, give us a holla! Are you part of a comedy team or an improve team? AWESOME!
Got just a funny story about yourself, someone else or a life experience that
you love to tell people at parties and shit? That works too! As you know, we’re
easy.
You’re probably saying “I don’t have any audio recording
software!” Not true. If you have a Windows computer you can just go into
“Accessories” and you will see “sound recorder” right there. It’s very simple,
just click “start recording” and use your mic or headset that I know you have
and tell your joke. When you’re finished just click “stop recording” and it
will save your joke to your desktop. Then, just email the file to either Matt
or me and we will convert it to mp3 for the show and add the rimshot or
hey-ooooo as necessary. (If you have a
Mac you have probably told everyone how superior you are so many times that
this should all be super simple for you. HeeHee” Also, if you have a smart phone you
can probably record an audio file and email it us that way.
I know your other excuse that you’re thinking right now too and my answer to that is STAGE FRIGHT SMAGE FRIGHT! Hell, if I can go on the show and say stupid
stuff in front of our vast and diverse worldwide audience every Sunday than you
can tell one little old joke. It’s no big deal. It’s just your voice. Nobody is
gonna make fun of you or ridicule you.
Come on y’all! I’ve given you five or six days advance
notice so you have plenty of time. And, if you need any help at all recording something let me know cause I'm willing to help. Let’s have some fun here! Don’t be an
enemy of fun! If you don’t do it, I’ll probably take it very personally. You
don’t want that on your conscience do you???

"Nobody is gonna make fun of you or ridicule you."
Somehow I find that hard to believe!
I'm going to lift weights all week so that my punchlines will be firm and crisp. Cheers and come yuk it up with us folks!!
Matt-Man
I'm not funny enough.
Dana: I seem to recall you coming on the show to talk about weight loss surgery and staying for the whole 2 hours. We didn't ridicule your or try to humiliate you then, did we? I wish we had now after that comment.

Matt: I have the theme from Rocky playing right now as I practice delivering punchlines.
Jay
Gnetch: Not true at all. You're damn funny along with charming and endearing. You would be a big star on the show!
Jay
I have a favorite joke to share but it's WAY to blue for an audience so I shall email you directly. You have been warned.
Knight: We really should run away together and get married.
